Assault

Threatening another with imminent physical harm or displaying a weapon in a manner that puts others in reasonable fear of harm; in many jurisdictions brandishing a firearm or threatening violence is a criminal offense.

Situation:

"The footage shows the two elderly women physically attacking one another (pouring hot soup, hitting/"beating the s*** out of" each other, and other physical confrontations). Those actions, by the mothers themselves, are depicted as physical assaults."

Crime #1

Food tampering

Intentionally contaminating food served to another person with human feces and causing another person to ingest it. Under U.S. law this can constitute food tampering and/or assault/battery (unlawful harmful or offensive contact).

Situation:

"Dennis is shown intentionally ashing into someone’s tapioca while the group watches/edits the footage, which is an intentional contamination of food served to another person."

Implicated: Dennis Reynolds
Crime #1

Illegal surveillance

Installing hidden cameras and recording people in private spaces without their knowledge or consent violates state voyeurism and privacy statutes and can also run afoul of audio-recording/wiretapping laws (many U.S. jurisdictions prohibit recording private conversations or intimate activity without consent). Filming sexual activity without informed consent is a particularly serious form of unlawful voyeurism/illegal recording.

Situation:

"The gang admits they placed hidden cameras in gifts and around the mothers' house (teddy bear, globe, plants, etc.), monitored a live feed, added laugh tracks and edits, and filmed private moments — including a sexual encounter between Frank and Bonnie — without the occupants' knowledge or consent. Charlie specifically acknowledges placing a camera in his mother's room; the group collectively monitored and edited the footage."
