Criminal Activities
Extortion
Obtaining property, money, or another advantage from someone by wrongful use of force, threats, or coercion; using threats of harm or other intimidating conduct to compel payment or compliance.
Situation:
"Dee tells Mac and Charlie they must get her a replacement 1997 Dodge Neon or she'll tell Frank and Dennis that they faked their deaths — a threat to obtain a new car."
Fraud
Making false statements or omissions to obtain federally backed relief loans (PPP) or using funds for purposes other than represented to the lender/SBA. Under federal law, knowingly making false statements to obtain loan proceeds (and misuse of those proceeds) can constitute bank fraud and related federal offenses.
Situation:
"Mac and Charlie staged their own deaths (including a slideshow and a faux funeral) and convinced others they were dead."
Possession of inhalant
Possession and use of poppers (amyl nitrite), a recreational inhalant; depicted as controlled/illicit recreational substance use in the episode context.
Situation:
"Charlie and others fight over the last popper on the bus; Charlie pleads to be allowed to use it."
Property Damage
Deliberately or recklessly crashing a vehicle into a building, causing significant property damage.
Situation:
"Dee accuses Mac and Charlie of crashing her 1997 Dodge Neon into a building as part of the events surrounding their faked deaths."
Use of explosive device
Detonating an explosive (a grenade is alleged), creating a dangerous explosion and causing property damage and risk to persons.
Situation:
"Dee tells the group that Mac and Charlie exploded a grenade inside the car/building when they staged their deaths."
