Criminal Activities
Attempted insurance fraud
Attempting to obtain an insurance payout by staging a false robbery.
Situation:
"Charlie plans to mimic the local burglary pattern by cutting the lights and approaching the register at night to make it look like another break‑in so they could collect insurance money."
Brandishing a firearm
Displaying, pointing, or otherwise using a firearm in a manner that threatens or places another person in fear of imminent serious bodily harm; can constitute brandishing and/or assault with a deadly weapon under state law.
Situation:
"Charlie takes the bar’s gun and menaces his landlord Hwang during a rent dispute, implying harm by saying he has his “ways” while showing the weapon."
Burglary and theft
Unlawful entry and theft of Paddy's Pub's safe, consistent with a spree of bar burglaries in the area.
Situation:
"The gang discovers their safe stolen with no broken locks. Later, Mac and Dennis suspect Dee’s boyfriend Colin (who dates bartenders to learn bar layouts and admits to carrying a gun). His closing-phone-call “Idiots.” stinger strongly implies he was the thief."
Reckless Endangerment
Conduct that creates a substantial risk of serious physical injury to another person; when victims are minors this commonly qualifies as child endangerment or child neglect under U.S. law.
Situation:
"While lying in wait for the suspected burglar in a darkened bar, Dennis fires and the bullet grazes Charlie’s head, after mistaking him for the intruder."
Reckless endangerment and unlawful discharge of a firearm
Recklessly firing a handgun in/near the city and treating it as a toy, creating a substantial risk of injury or property damage.
Situation:
"After buying the gun, Dennis and Mac take turns shooting at a log for fun and play with the loaded weapon around the bar."
